About
As a composer, producer, and charting recording artist with over 20 years of experience in the music industry, I've had the pleasure of representing a broad spectrum of genres with global influences to create custom soundscapes with an edge.
My diverse musical background allows me to utilize world instruments, atmospheric textures, and modern recording techniques to create signature sounds and custom scores with lasting emotional impact. As I work closely with directors, producers, developers, and content creators, it's my goal as a composer to help bring artistic visions to life by complementing visuals, enhancing the mood, and supporting the story.
Custom Scores
-
Original film scores enhance storytelling by complementing visuals, setting the mood, evoking emotion, and guiding the audience's perception.
Example Scenario: The lead character is walking through a dense, misty forest at dusk.
Musical Elements: “Woody” tones (e.g. bamboo flutes, guitar neck pickups, and marimbas) can emulate a naturalistic environment, while droning “breathy” synths with a high-pass filter can provide a misty characteristic to set the scene.
-
Television shows require unique identities to stand out in a crowded market. This often involves composing character leitmotifs, adapting musical themes over multiple seasons, and maintaining creative consistency to drive narrative.
Example Scenario: A television show takes place in the medieval ages with a ruthless noble advancing his territory.
Musical Elements: Deep, low strings and percussion (e.g. cello and timpani) in a slow tempo create a foreboding sense of impending doom. This can adapt over time by adding low, powerful horns and orchestral stabs as the character takes control.
-
Video game soundtracks enhance the player experience by building atmosphere, reacting to gameplay, and stirring emotion. Whether it's immersing the player in the game's world, heightening the drama of action sequences, or creating memorable themes for characters and levels, dynamic music can have a big impact.
Example Scenario: A character is nearing the end of the level and approaching a boss.
Musical Elements: The tempo starts to increase as the music intensifies, heightening emotions and giving ominous warnings. Orchestral stabs and deepening drums in a fast heartbeat tempo can add to the intensity.
-
Music in advertising can greatly affect consumer behavior by creating memorable moments, enhancing brand identity, and building emotional connections to drive sales.
Example Scenario: A car brand is showcasing it’s edgy luxury car. As the car drives through a large city at night, the city lights highlight its sleek lines and powerful appearance.
Musical Elements: Synthwave characteristics such as up-tempo electronic beats, catchy synth melodies, and atmospheric accents can give dreamy, introspective vibes for night drives.
-
Adaptive and dynamic musical scores can heighten immersive experiences by emulating real world environments and complementing interactive visuals.
Example Scenario: A player is immersed in a virtual reality environment.
Musical Elements: Musical undertones create the mood and set the scene. As audio elements are triggered based on the player’s actions, using reverb, panning, and EQ can enhance spatial awareness and bring the environment to life.
